Michael Owen Lord

Mr. Michael Owen Lord, age 47, of Tennille, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011. A casual celebration of life at graveside will be held on Friday, March 25th at 11:00am at the Michael Lord Farm on 1647 Edwards-Ford Road south of Tennille. Rev. Brant Kennedy will officiate.

Michael was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was a graduate of Brentwood School and Southern Technical Institute with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was formerly employed with ECC and was currently the Sandersville Operation Maintenance Supervisor for Thiele Kaolin Company. Michael was also an ordained minister. Raising cattle, hunting, fishing and playing the guitar were a few of Michael’s hobbies. He was a faithful and devoted husband, father and grandpa.

Survivors are; his wife Darlene Black Lord, children, Dustin Lord (Casey) and Taylor Lord, one grandson Kaleb Michael Lord, his parents Owen and Faye Lord all of Tennille, his brother Steven Lord (Rhonda) of Tennille and sisters Stacy L. Howell (Danny) of Athens and Melissa L. Thigpen of Tennille. Michael is predeceased by his brother-in-law Michael Thigpen.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 7pm at their residence 1647 Edwards-Ford Rd., Tennille.
