Mr. Michael Edward McCurdy, age 78, of 1148 Linton Road in Sandersville died on Monday morning, May 18, 2015, at his residence following an extended illness.
A memorial service for Mr. McCurdy will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday May 21st, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. Ms. Helen Williford will officiate.
Mr. McCurdy was a native of Stuttgart, Arkansas, the son of the late Harley Edward McCurdy and the late Mildred Bates McCurdy. He was a retired jet engine crew chief with the United States Air Force with service of over twenty six years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
Survivors are his daughter, Gerri McCurdy Brantley of Sandersville; his son, Scott Edward McCurdy and his wife Lisa of Sandersville; two grandchildren, Destiny Jackson and her husband Rick and Stefan McCurdy; three great- grandchildren, Z. J. Scott, Cole Jackson and Logan Jackson; his sister, Pat Mark and her husband Jim of Winter Park, Florida; a niece, Melanie Mark; and a nephew, Tom Mark.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
