Michael James Summerlin

Michael James Summerlin, age 51, of Warthen, died Friday, October 20, 2017. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Warthen. Reverend Tim Powell will officiate. Pallbearers will be, Scott Bussell, Brad Griffin, Ronnie Waters, Gene Renfroe, Gene Harrison and Tim Konzelman.

Michael was born in Thomson , Georgia.  He served in the US Navy for eleven years where he participated in the Persian Gulf War.  He was a former employee of Howard Sheppard Inc. Michael was an avid sports fan and a person who cherished family.  He is predeceased by his father, Joe Eugene Summerlin.

Survivors include: his mother, Rachel Bussell Summerlin of Warthen; brothers, Ray Eugene Summerlin and his wife Janet of Eatonton, Charlie Joe Summerlin and his wife Tammy of Warthen, and Randal Franklin Summerlin and his wife Lena Milledgeville; and nieces and nephews, Cheyenne Konzelman, Wesley Summerlin, Natasha Summerlin, Rachel Summerlin, and Brad Griffin.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
