Mildred Renfroe Hadden, age 86, of Sandersville, died Friday, June 24, 2016, at the Heritage Inn Nursing Home in Sandersville following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, June 26, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Minister Marlon Lastinger will officiate.
Mildred was born in Washington County, the wife of the late William Eugene Hadden, and the daughter of the late James N. Renfroe, Jr. and the late Ruby Garner Renfroe. She was a graduate of Sandersville High School and Strayer Business School in Washington, D.C.. Mildred spent most of her adult life living in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, GA, before returning home to Washington County after an extended illness.
Mildred worked most of her life as a legal secretary and retired from the law firm of Powell, Goldstein, Frazier & Murphy in Atlanta, GA. She was a life-long member of Pleasant Grove Baptist in Washington County. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family. Mrs. Hadden is predeceased by her husband, William Eugene Hadden.
Mildred is survived by her loving sister, Allene Collins, and nieces and nephews (surrogate children): Susan and Mark Allen of Sandersville, GA; Jim and Sharon Collins of Midway, GA; Al and Cindy Collins of Macon, GA; and Kerry and Ann Collins of Milledgeville, GA. Mildred also shared a very special bond with her great nieces and nephews: Adam and Ember Allen of Gainesville, FL; Ally Collins of Charlotte, NC; Kyle Collins of Eugene, OR, and Annie Collins of Savannah, GA.
The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Social Hall also on Sunday, June 26, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the Funeral service.
