Milton R. Jackson, age 81, of Warthen, formerly of Riddleville, passed away at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta on October 3, 2012.
Graveside services will be at 11:00am Saturday, October 6th, at the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. M.D. Cabe and Rev. Tim Powell officiating.
Mr. Jackson was the son of the late Lucian Jackson and the late Mozelle Young Jackson of Riddleville. He was predeceased by a daughter Sandra Ruth Jackson, a brother J. B. Jackson and a sister Martha (Frank) Maurier.
Mr. Jackson was retired from Champion Clays and he was a farmer and a logger.
Survivors include: his wife of 61 ½ years, Ruth Norris Jackson of Warthen; two daughters, Judy J. (Casey) Youngblood of Milledgeville and Marsha Jackson Glover of Lake Sinclair; two special sons, Frank Maurier, Jr., of Dearborn MI, and Andrew Maurier and family of Howell MI; grandchildren, Benjamin Walker (Amanda) Glover of Elgin SC., Sheila Marie Decker of Tucker, Shannon Leigh Decker of Milledgeville, Army Staff Sargent William Casey (Elizabeth) Youngblood, Jr. of Oconee, now serving in Afghanistan, Michael and Matthew Maurier of Dearborn MI; ten great-grandchildren including Hope Glover, Regan Glover, Caroline Glover, Wesley Ferrell and Noah Lewis; and special cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
The family extends many thanks to: the families of Chris and Nicole Massengale and Stanley and Stacy Williford; Gibson Health and Rehab Center; Dr. Lana Jackson and the staff at the ENT Clinic of Augusta; Dr. Kapoor, Margaret, and staff at the Cardiology Clinic; and the entire medical team at MCG of Augusta.
