Mr. Milton Harvey Smith, age 69, of Eatonton died on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 22, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Bobby Williford and Reverend Fred Garrett will officiate.

Mr. Smith was a native of Washington County, Georgia, the son of the late William Huel Smith and the late Adell Meeks Smith. He was the husband of the late Margie Smith. He was a retired automobile mechanic. Mr. Smith had served in the United States Navy.

Survivors include: his two sons, William Harvey Smith of Savannah, and Milton Eric Smith and his wife Jennifer of Sandersville; eight grandchildren, Shawn Kratz and his wife Amanda, Michelle Smith, Erica Smith, Cody Smith, Ashton Smith, Cherokee Smith, Dustin Avant and Justin Avant; five sisters, Martha S. Solomon and her husband Joe of Douglas, Hazel S. Barfield and her husband James of Eatonton, Rebecca S. Peterson and her husband Peter of Eatonton, Betty Smith of Sandersville, and Lila S. Eubanks and her husband Robert of Sandersville; four brothers, William Smith and his wife Patsy of Toomsboro, Anthony Smith of Dublin, Steve Smith and his wife Jean of Savannah, and Larry Smith and his wife Penny of Savannah.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home from 12:30 P.M. on Sunday until the hour of service at 2:00 P.M.

May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
