Mrs. Mina Lee Smart Roberson, age 84, of Newman Street in Sandersville, died Thursday, May 08, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 2:00pm the First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville with burial at the Pleasant Plains Church Cemetery near Harrison. Rev. Danny Thomas and Rev. Bobby Williford will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mark Kent, Floyd Horton, Robbie Morris, Chuck Wright, Mark Stanley and Arlis Turner.
Mrs. Roberson was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County the daughter of the late David Ulysses Smart and the late Lucia Dixon Smart. She was a retired seamstress for Royal Manufacturing. Mrs. Roberson was a former member of the Tennille Church of God and currently an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was devoted to her family and loved her craft of sewing in which she enjoyed doing for the public. Mrs. Roberson is predeceased by her husband Billy Ray Roberson.
Survivors are her daughter, Myra R. Meeks and her husband Chad of Milledgeville, sons, William Oral Roberson of Sandersville and Tony W. Roberson and his wife Charlene of Tennille, grandchildren, Gregory Roberson and his wife April, Audrey Nicole Roberson, Candy Rio Akridge, Craig Anthony Kirkkpatrick and Brittany Nicole Kirkpatrick, great grandchildren, Kory Sellars, Kaleb Roberson, Kelsey Roberson, and Rae Rae Roberson and her brother Bosworth Smart of Savannah.
The family will be at the Roberson residence on Newman Street in Sandersville and they will receive friends on Friday, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
