Murphy Eugene Martin

September 13, 1930 — August 26, 2019

Mr. Murphy Eugene Martin, age 88, of Sandersville, died on Monday, August 26, 2019 following an extended illness.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 27 at 2:00 P.M. at Kendall Heights Church of God with burial in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Quint Shepherd and Reverend Bobby Williford will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Brent Williford, Craig Williford, Austin Williford, Jonathan Shepherd, Cole Williford, Matt Price, Jay Underwood, Kevin Head and Zack Hunsucker.

Mr. Martin was a native of Emanuel County, the son of the late Dan Martin and the late Grace Wells Martin.  He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Williford.  Mr. Martin was a retired lineman with Georgia Power Company and the former owner of Town and Country Home Exteriors.  Mr. Martin was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of Kendall Heights Church of God.

Survivors are his wife, Daphene Martin of Sandersville; daughters, Debra Shepherd and her husband Quint  and Sheri Haynes and her husband Rodney  all of Sandersville; son, Ken Williford and his wife Teresa of LaGrange; daughter in law, Helen Williford of Sandersville; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a nephew.

The family will receive friends at Kendall Heights Church of God from 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday until the hour of service.
