Myrle W. Joiner

Mrs. Myrle W. Joiner, age 87, of Wrightsville-Riddleville Rd. in Harrison, died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Washington County Extended Care Facility. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd, at 2:00 p.m. at the Beulah Baptist Church with burial in the Pleasant Plains Church Cemetery. Reverend Brant Kennedy and Reverend Michael Bailey will officiate. Mrs. Joiner’s grandsons and grandson-in-laws will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Joiner was the daughter of the late Norman M. Whitfield and the late Lucile Kitchens Whitfield. She was a homemaker and an active member of her church, Beulah Baptist Church. Mrs. Joiner loved her family and she enjoyed reading, especially doing word searches. She is predeceased by her husband, Owen Martin Joiner, Sr. and sons, Bobby K. Joiner and Tommy M. Joiner.

Mrs. Joiner is survived by her sons, Owen Martin Joiner, Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Harrison, Russell Joiner and his wife Carol of Wrightsville and Ben L. Joiner and his wife Jessica of Harrison; daughters, Eloise J. Hayes of Augusta, Connie J. Sheppard and her husband Everett of Harrison, Carol J. Price and her husband Roger of Wrightsville, Jan Joiner and June J. Bailey and her husband Michael all of Dublin; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family will be at the Joiner residence, 2996 Wrightsville-Riddleville Road, in Harrison and they will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
