Nancy Cyrus Wells

Mrs. Nancy C. Wells, age 89, of Riddleville, formerly of Macon, passed away on September 8, 2025, at her residence. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, September 12th at 2:00 PM, at Riddleville Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Allen Wiggins will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Ryan Tribble, Matt Tribble, Brent LaCourse and Eric Farmer. The family will receive friends on Friday at 1:00 until the hour of service at the church.

Mrs. Wells was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, the daughter of the late William Richard Cyrus and Elsie Mann Cyrus.  During her time in Lynchburg, she worked at State Farm Insurance.  In 1970, after settling in Macon, she worked for the Bibb County Board of Education as an Administrative Assistant for the Superintendent, from which she retired. She was also a member of PSI, Professional Secretaries International. She was an active member of Ingleside Baptist Church in Macon for over 50 years. She took care of making sure they always had flowers for Sunday morning.  Before she went anywhere, she had to have her hair fixed and lipstick on, thus being nicknamed “Fancy Nancy” by one of her CNA’s.  She was also the biggest prayer warrior you could have.

Mrs. Wells was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Ron Wells; brother, Leon Cyrus and Great-Granddaughter Madyson Hope Tribble.  She is survived by her daughters, Renny Lindsey and her husband Harry of Riddleville, Cathy W. LaCourse of Gray and Tina W. Pratt and her husband Tom of Toccoa; Grandchildren, Ryan Tribble and his wife Crystal of Harrison, Matt Tribble and his wife Michelle of Tennille, Ashlee T. Farmer and her husband Eric of Harrison, Brent LaCourse and Melissa Howard, and Rebecca LaCourse of Gray, Joni Bray and her husband Quentin of Eastanollee, GA and Jenny Braden of Knoxville, TN; 8 Great Grandchildren; Neice, Kim Bell and her husband Mike of Lynchburg, VA and Nephew, David Wells and his wife Sonya of Los Gatos, CA.
