Neil Franklin Fox

Mr. Neil Franklin Fox of Sandersville died Saturday, October 17, 2020 on his 90th birthday at the Washington County Extended Care Facility following an extended illness.   A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, November 14th at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Sandersville.  Reverend Lee Lacey will officiate.  The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.   First Baptist Church Deacons as well as local Gideons will sit as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Fox was born and reared in Wheatly, Ontario, Canada the son of the late Milton Russell Fox and the late Joyce "Joy" Ellen McClellan Fox.  He attended high school and college at Prarie Bible Institute where he graduated with a degree in missions and music.  He met his loving wife Ruth while in college and they began life and a working career in Miami Florida.  Mr. Fox transferred to Clearwater Florida working with American Sterilizer Company from which he retired.  After retirement, his continued his work in music ministry serving numerous churches including, First Alliance Church and Hialeah Alliance church while in Miami, Largo Alliance while in Clearwater, and Northside Baptist and Salem Baptist while in Tifton.  Neil and Ruth moved to Sandersville to be near family where they were active members of First Baptist Church of Sandersville and where Neil served as a church Deacon and was active with Gideons International.   He was a crafty person certified as an electrician, a plumber, a wood worker as well as a computer specialist.  Most of all, Mr. Fox was known as a tremendous spiritual leader, constantly striving to lead others to Christ.  His laugh and big hugs were always loved by his family and friends.

Mr. Fox is survived by his children, Sharon L. Fox Dawson and her husband Wade of Sandersville, Karen J. Fox Pierce and her husband Nolan of Port Richey, FL., Miriam R. Fox Simmons and her husband Forrest of Fayetteville, and Steven Neil Fox and his wife Deborah of Maryville, TN., grandchildren, Christi Baker Gordy and her husband Joseph of Atlanta, Chad Pierce and his wife Yamileth of Port Richey, Fl., Allison Baker Ayers and her husband Josh of Atlanta, Jonathan Dawson and his wife Terri of Sandersville, Timothy Pierce and his wife Elizabeth of Fayetteville, NC, Jennifer Baker McEwen and her husband Patrick of Atlanta, Steven Dawson and his wife Elizabeth of Arlington, VA, David Baker and his wife Jessica of Duluth, Rebekah Fox Polley and her husband Daniel of Louisville, KY, Hannah Fox Tully and her husband Patrick of Alcoa, TN, Joy Dawson McManious and her husband Josh of Phenix City, Al, Sarah Grace Fox of Maryville, TN, and Nathaniel Steven Fox of Louisville, KY; and twenty six great grandchildren.
