Mr. Noah Lee Sellars, age 83 of Warthen passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at his residence following an extended illness. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Tennille United Methodist Church with burial following in Zeta Cemetery. Reverend Randall Smith and Reverend Stephen A. Hughes will officiate, and pallbearers will be Jeremy Sellars, Danile McClure, David Arnold, John Sellars, and Charles Cochran. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Sellars was born in Washington County, the son of the late George Thomas Sellars, Sr. and the late Myrtice Hazel Duggan Sellars. He began working the textile industry at the age of 16 and worked there until Washington Manufacturing Closed. He then drove for Spring City as well as U.S. Express. Mr. Sellars and his wife also owned an operated several stores in the area, including A-1 Imports, L and S Furniture, and Tennille Food Store. He also served as Pastor of First Southern Methodist Church until his retirement due to sickness. In his spare time Mr. Sellars enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, and hunting for yellow jacket nests to use their larva for fishing bait. He was a man of faith and loved reading his Bible. IN addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Ann Sellars, and brother, George Thomas Sellars, Jr.
Mr. Sellars is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth Lanthrip Sellars; son, Noah Johnathan Sellars of Buffalo, NY; daughters, Pamela Myrtice Sellars of Tennille, Laura Elizabeth Sellars, and Robin Malenda Arnold (David) both of Warthen; grandchildren, Jeremy Noah Sellars, Amber Nicole Steward, and Victoria Ruth Arnold; great grandchildren, Austin Steward, Jordan Steward, Shabria Steward, Geovonni Steward, and T.J. Steward; and many nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to him as “Uncle Sam.”
