Olin Ronald Jackson

Mr. Olin Ronald Jackson, age 73, of Bartow, died Friday, December 2, 2016. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Sandersville United Methodist Church with burial in Brownwood Cemetery. Reverend Dr. Stan Littleton will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Jackson, Richard Jackson, Charles Jackson, Robbie Jackson, Kevin Cobb, Steven Everett, Jay Jackson, Mark Cooper, Rudy Hall and Jimmy Glover. Current and former board members and employees of Queensborough Bank will sit as an honorary group.

Mr. Jackson was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Olin Jasper Jackson and the late Doris Lord Jackson. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and LSU School of Banking. Ronald retired from Queesborough Bank as Executive Vice President after 37 years of service. He was a lifelong farmer, a lover of the land and his cattle. He served as Chairman of the Washington County Board of Education for 18 years. Ronald was an active member of the Sandersville United Methodist Church, where he served the church in numerous leadership roles during his life. He was a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau, the Washington County Cattleman’s Association and the Washington County Historical Society. Popsie, as he was often called by his grandchildren, possessed a great love for his Lord and his entire family cherishing the roles of husband, father and grandfather. He is predeceased by his parents and his wife Brenda Hodges Jackson.

Survivors are; his wife, Emilee C. Giddens Jackson of Bartow; children, Dana J. Brown and her husband Mark of Cornelia, Jason R. Jackson and his wife Jennifer of Houston, TX., Kecia J. Jones and her husband Drew of Demorest, Tracy Giddens and his wife Cindy of Tennille, Wendy G. Williams and her husband Keith of Covington, Lisa G. McDonald and her husband Carl and Joey C. Giddens and his wife Leia of Sandersville; grandchildren, Taylor Brown, McKenzie Brown, Matt Brown, Reece Jackson, Bekah Jackson, Gracie Jones, Andrew Jones, A.J. Giddens, Preston Giddens, Mitch Williams, Ashleigh Williams, Caleb Williams, Abby McDonald, Lillie McDonald and Joseph Giddens.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
