Omar Lewis Harrouk

Mr. Omar Lewis Harrouk, age 49, of Sparta, died on Sunday, July 16, 2017.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Harrouk will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 21, 2017, at Smyrna Methodist Church Cemetery near Sparta. Reverend Jerry Bradley will officiate.

Mr. Harrouk was born in Los Angeles, California, but grew up in Hancock County.  He was a graduate of John Hancock Academy.  Mr. Harrouk was a guard with Hancock State Prison. He spent his last twenty-five years in real estate business, where he was the co-owner of Harrouk properties. Mr. Harrouk loved to travel, hunt , fish and had a devout interest in history and genealogy. He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Spencer Jai-Stuyversant Brown.

Survivors are: his father and mother, Farouk Said Harrouk and Dorothy Eugenia Lewis Harrouk; sister, Cherie Harrouk Ideus and her husband Eldon of Brentwood, TN.; two nieces and a nephew.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home from 5:00 until 6:30 P.M. on Thursday.
