Mr. Pat Wolfe, age 85, of Warthen, died at his residence on Friday, January 11, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 13 in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. Reverend Chad Waller and Reverend Rick Bonfim will officiate. Burial will be private for family only in Warthen Family Cemetery.
Mr. Wolfe was a native of Montgomery County, the son of the late Hoke Smith Wolfe and the late Frances Rackley Wolfe. He was preceded in death by a twin sister, Patsy Wolfe Anderson.
Mr. Wolfe was a veteran of the United States Army and served overseas in Germany. He attended Brewton Parker College before a career as an enforcement officer for the Georgia Department of Revenue. He had a love for the outdoors and was an avid fishermen and hunter. In retirement, he became an amateur vinter and enjoyed sharing the wine he produced with friends. Mr. Wolfe loved cooking for friends and family, and even had a kitchen installed in his barn. His grandsons were a special joy, and he loved their talks about business and baseball.
Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth Turner Wolfe of Warthen; son, Ben Wolfe and his wife Cindy of Warthen; daughter, Barbara Wolfe Adams and her husband Michael of North Carolina; grandchildren, Benjamin Wolfe of New York City and Josh Wolfe of Nashville.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Victory Central Church, P. O. Box 123, Tennille, Georgia 31089.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 1:00 P.M. Sunday until the hour of service and following the service.
