Mrs. Patsy E. Blount, age 75, of Lee Street in Sandersville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at her residence on Monday, April 14, 2025. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, April 18th at 11:00 A.M. at Tennille United Methodist Church, with burial in Washington County Memorial Gardens. Reverend Cathy Green and Reverend Jeff Cook will officiate.
Patsy was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, daughter of the late Eunious Jackson Etheridge and the late Marie Purser Etheridge. She was reared in Tennille, where she attended school and graduated from Washington County High School class of 1967. Following graduation, Patsy attended business school in the Atlanta area, traveling to and from on the Nancy Hanks train. She began her working career at Dixie Finance, in Milledgeville and Sandersville. After time spent raising her children, along with caring for other children, she began a long career with the Georgia Department of Transportation in administration, from which she retired. Patsy was an active member of the Tennille United Methodist Church and the Tennille Women's Club. Patsy was an avid card player, playing bridge and bunco. She loved traveling and spending time at her lake home on Lake Sinclair. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and possessed a passion for animals, especially her cats. She also loved growing plants and flowers.
Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Thomas Dean Blount; children, Deana B. Dalrymple and her husband Gerald of Milledgeville and Diana Blount of Canton and grandchildren, Deidra Dalrymple of Woodstock, Katheryn Dalrymple of Orlando, FL., Ashley Dalrymple of Cottonwood Heights, UT and Cliff Dalrymple of Lawrenceville, GA.
Patsy's family will receive friends on Thursday, April 17th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
