Mrs. Pauline Kelly Parker of 301 East Fifth Street in Louisville entered into rest on Friday, April 13. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 16 in the Louisville City Cemetery. The Rev. Hardy Owens and Rev. Larry Montgomery will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jonas Gamble, Tommy Jones, Pat Kelly, Benji Kelly, William Rabun, Abbot Easterlin, John Murphy, Dr. Jim Pilcher, Dr. Jim Polhill, John Kelly, Patrick Kelly and Thomas Kelly.
Mrs. Parker was born July 6, 1918 in Anson, North Carolina, but had resided in Louisville for over ninety years. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Benjamin Kelly and the late Enola Lowery Kelly. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur James Parker, and her brothers, Thomas Benjamin Kelly, Jr. and Jackson Washington Kelly.
Mrs. Parker graduated from Louisville Academy and received a degree in education from the University of Georgia, having taught school in Wrens, Georgia for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville and the Louisville Garden Club. Mrs. Parker was a vibrant woman, devoted to her son. Among the many past times that she enjoyed, she especially loved traveling and playing bridge.
Survivors include her son, Arthur Jan Parker of Louisville, sister in law, Joyce Odom Kelly of Louisville, nephews, Thomas Benjamin Kelly III and John Patrick Kelly and his wife Susan, great nieces, Emma Pauline Kelly, Anna Grace Kelly and Ashley Kelly Holley, great nephews, Thomas Benjamin Kelly, John Patrick Kelly, Jr, Patrick Benjamin Kelly and a loving care giver, Eunice Mathis of Louisville.
