Mrs. Pearl Porter Elton, age 81, of North Harris Street in Sandersville, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 15TH, at 3:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Reverends Scott McDade and Mark Jones III will officiate.
Mrs. Elton was a native of Vancouver Washington, the daughter of the late Mack C. Porter and the late Hazel Toole Porter. She worked as a waitress formerly at the Clinton Restaurant, the Villa South and lastly at the Huddle House. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville and she loved to go camping and fishing and when at home she loved Science Fiction T.V.
Survivors are her husband US Air force retired Master Sgt. Donald O. Elton of Sandersville; children, Roberta E. Lee her and significant other, Joe McCoy of Auburn WA, Marie E. Watson and her husband Walt of Charlotte, NC, Mary E. Williams of Macon, Donny Elton of Sandersville and William Charles Elton and his wife Betty Jean of Wrightsville; 15 grandchildren; 22 Great-Grandchildren; three Great-Great-Grandchildren; and her brothers, Rick Porter and his wife Carol and Clarence Porter all of Washington State.
The family will be at the Elton residence on North Harris Street in Sandersville and they will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., and also following the funeral service on Sunday both at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
