Mrs. Pearl Tapley-Brantley, age 93, of Sanderville, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 at Washington County Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 25th, at May and Smith Funeral Home with funeral services immediately following in the Chapel and burial at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Sandersville. Reverend Danny Thomas and Reverend Fred Garrett will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ricky Anderson, Steven Anderson, Ricky Anderson, Jr., Mark Tapley, William
Tapley, Joseph Vines, Tyler Tapley and Doug Watkins.
Mrs. Tapley-Brantley was a native of Emanuel County and lived in Washington County most of her life. The daughter of the late Jim Woods and the late
Ruth (Kersey) Woods. She was a talented seamstress in the manufacturing
industry for 35 years. She was also a homemaker known for her expert cooking
and her biscuits were a family favorite. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She is predeceased by her husbands, Carswell Tapley and W.B. (Bill) Brantley, six brothers, three sisters, a son-in-law, Bruce Anderson and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Tapley.
Survivors include four sons, Bennie Herman Tapley of Augusta, James Kermit
Tapley of Dearing, Wayne Irvin Tapley (Connie) of Sandersville, and Glenn Wyman
Tapley (Ann) of Evans; two daughters, Joyce Tapley Anderson of Dublin and Judith
M. Tapley Hargrove ( Duane) of Horn Lake, Mississippi; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-
grandchildren.
Granny Pearl was loved and cherished by her family, she will be sorely
missed.
May and Smith Funeral Directors of Sandersville is in charge of the
arrangements.
