Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry. Peggy was born in Rome, Georgia, to the late Charles and Margaret Wadsworth Ison. She grew up in Sandersville and graduated from Washington County High School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Georgia College and her Master's Degree from Ft. Valley State University. Peggy married the love of her life, Earl Brett, and the couple eventually settled in Perry to raise their family. She taught elementary school for over 33 years and retired from Houston County Board of Education. Peggy dedicated her life to her family, her church, and her friends. Through the years, she sacrificed a great deal to be the best wife, mother, and grandmother that she could be. She spent many long hours at various ball fields, supporting her three sons, and eventually her grandchildren in their chosen sports. Peggy was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Perry, where she was a member of the Avon Buice Sunday School Class, a former Sunday School teacher, and a former member of the nominating board. She was a strong believer in prayer, and was very thankful for all those who prayed for her and with her during her courageous battle with cancer.
Left to cherish the memories of Peggy are her loving and devoted husband of over 52 years, Earl Brett of Perry; her sons and their wives, Jeff and Martha Brett, Joey and Robbi Brett, and Jason and Amy Brett, all of Perry; and her grandchildren, Lauren B. Kinder (Keegan), Will Brett, Sunni Brett, Mary Kate Brett, Caden Brett, Reese Brett, Connor Brett, and Reid Brett.
