Peggy Sue Veal

August 18, 1964 — June 26, 2020

Peggy Sue Veal, age 55, of Linton Road, Warthen, passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 following a brief illness. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, July 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Russell Brown will officiate. Pallbearers will be Trey Veal, Shaun Veal, Chris Brown, Tony Brown, Pat Brown, Tim Brown, Cara Mock and Thomas Frazier.

Peggy was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Edwin Luther Veal and the late Palma Frazier Veal. She was a 1982 graduate of Brentwood School and also a graduate of Georgia College and State University. Peggy formerly worked as a laboratory technician for Anglo American Clays, ECCI, Imerys and Printess Inc. Peggy was currently employed by George D. Warthen Bank in loan operations. She was a lifelong active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and VBS since she was 17 years old. She currently served as the church clerk and loved to sing in the ladies ensemble. Peggy was an avid Bulldog fan and her favorite hobbies included reading, scrapbooking and watching crime shows. She loved Broadway and enjoyed performing in the Sandersville Community Theatre.

Survivors are her sister, Sheryl Veal and her husband Larry of Warthen and nephews Shaun Veal of Sandersville and Trey Veal of Atlanta.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Donations may be made to the Sandersville School Building Authority, for the renovation of the School Auditorium, P.O. Box 5923, Sandersville, GA. 31082.
