Ralph Murphy Horton

Mr. Ralph Murphy Horton, age 90, of Sandersville, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the Keysville Nursing Home following an extended illness. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 11:00am in the Washington County Memorial Gardens. Rev. Bobby Williford will officiate.

Mr. Horton was born in Washington County the son of the late Talmadge Kitrell Horton and the late Minnie Belle Murphy Horton. He was a long time resident of Florida where he worked as a pipe fitter for the Moore Pipe and Sprinkler Company before retiring back to Georgia. Mr. Horton was a member of the AF of L CIO labor union for over 50 years and was also a member of the Kendall Heights Church of God. He was a Marine Veteran of WWII. Mr. Horton is predeceased by his wife Lysbeth Eason Horton.

Survivors are his children, Ann H. Williams of Evans, Brenda H. Malphrus of Santa Cruz CA., Jill H. Ferrell of South Brook NJ., Roy Horton of Mesa AZ, and Melvin Horton of High Springs FL., twelve grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
