Ralph Lee Thames

August 13, 1953 — October 3, 2014

Mr. Ralph Lee Thames, age 61, of Tennille, died Friday, October 03, 2014 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 5th, at 11:00 a.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service and also following the service at the funeral home. The Pastor Margaret Sharp will officiate.

Mr. Thames was born in Burke County the son of the late Emory Jackson Thames and the late Hazel Beasley Thames. He was the owner/operator of R and R Trucking and a member of the Agape Fellowship Church in Thomson. Mr. Thames served in the Army National Guard. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Thames is predeceased by his sister, Renee Wilson.

Survivors are his wife, Rosa Gunn Thames of Tennille; children, Todd Lee Thames and his wife Jennifer of Davisboro, Heather Leigh T. Kirkland of Sandersville and April T. Dickerson and her husband Randy of Tennille; grandchildren, Tyson Thames, Mason Thames, Laney Thames, Cole Kirkland, Cabe Dickerson and Reid Dickerson; his sister, Mary Ellen Lariscy and her husband Ray of Sylvania; and brother-in-law Edward Wilson of Wrens.

The family will be at the residence of Todd and Jennifer Thames on Ga. Hwy. 24 East in Davisboro.
