Richard Lloyd Clanahan

Mr. Richard Lloyd Clanahan, age 91, of Sandersville, died on Thursday, October 17, 2018 at University Hospital in Augusta hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services for Mr. Clanahan will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 21 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Sandersville.  Brother Jamie Carrington will officiate.

Mr. Clanahan was a native of Herrin Illinois, the son of the late Edward Warren Clanahan and the late Christine Clanahan. He is preceded by his wife, Dorothy Louise Clanahan. He graduated from Herrin High School and held an associate degree in accounting from Southern Illinois University.  Mr. Clanahan worked in retail management from 1943 until he retired from Walmart in 1992. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.  He was baptized in 1960 and served as an Elder in the Jehovah's Witness for over thirty years.

Survivors are his children, Gary Clanahan and his wife Dawn of South Hampton, NY, Greg Clanahan and his wife Tara of Sandersville, Rebecca Clanahan Story of Sandersville and Pamela Clanahan Banks of Bartow; ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
