Mr. Ricky Brown, age 74 of Tennille passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at a Macon area hospice following an extended illness. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Washington County Memorial Gardens with Reverend Danny Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until the hour of service at the cemetery.
Mr. Brown was born in Sandersville on October 30, 1948, the son of the late Bernard L. Brown, Sr. and the late Nollie Frances Pounds Brown Cook. He was a Washington County High School graduate and worked for 34 years as a Lab Technician with Kentucky-Tennessee Clay. Mr. Brown possessed a great love for writing songs and playing guitar; during his lifetime he wrote 19 songs. He also enjoyed fishing and playing golf and he loved cats, dogs, and various other wildlife. In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his wife, Sybil Brinkley Brown; brother, B.L. Brown, Jr.; and sister, Evelyn Kitchens.
Mr. Brown is survived by his stepson, Timothy H. Marchman and his wife Lynn of Macon; step grandson, Chris Marchman of Macon; sister-in-law, Sue Brown of Sandersville; nephews, James Brown and his wife Della, Stacey Kitchens and his wife Jackie, Joe Kitchens and his wife Penny, and Jim Kitchens and his wife Crystal; niece, Julie Jones; and special friend, Carolyn Phillips and her son and daughter Heath and Nicole.
