Mr. Ricky Louis Poole, age 62, of Sandersville passed away on Friday, April 22,2022 following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, April 29, 2022 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Sandersville with burial in Oak Grove cemetery. Reverend Cecil Moore will officiate. Pallbearers will be Benny Hodges, Henry Hodges Jr., Dennis Harper, Dean Harper, DeCarlos Martin, O.C. Hunt, Carlos Taylor, Keith Williams, Kester Burns, Lorenzo Green and Ronald Williams. Flower Bearers will be his nieces.
Mr. Poole was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Rosby Golar and the late Christine Hunt Poole. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ennis Poole, Jr, Charles Poole, Jimmie Irvin and Calvin Wadley, his sisters, Genelle Hunt Render and Dianne Poole Souder and his friend, Ronald E. Dorman. Mr. Poole was an employee of Burgess Pigment Company as an operator for over 27 years and Dorman Chrysler as their clean-up specialist for over 35 years. He was a dependable employee and friend. He also enjoyed old school music.
Survivors are his wife, Lesa Hodges Poole of Wrightsville; daughters, Tabitha Green (Lorenzo) and Cassandra Poole both of Sandersville and Venetia Hodges of Wrightsville; son, Xavier Holmes (Jasmine) of Wrightsville; grandchildren, Briana Green, Yazmeen Wilson, Brian Green, Brannen Green, Jason Poole, Jr., Jacob Poole, Jamari Hodges, Xajia Hodges, Zacchaeus Hodges and Journee McClendon; four great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Dorothy P. Ward (Robert) of Jonesboro, Eugene Poole of Atlanta, C. W. Poole of Rodchester, NY, Willie Poole (Trina) of Fayetteville, Sarah Poole Bridges (Clinton) of Riverdale, Eddie Poole (Tonya) of Covington, Larry Poole (Casandra) of Atlanta, Tony Hunt of Covington, James Bails of Atlanta, Linda Wadley, Rotenia Wadley Tillman, Edna Jackson, William Floyd Wadley, Vincent Wadley (Barbara) and Curtis Wadley (Willie Mae) all of Sandersville; sister in law, Brenda Wadley of Sandersville; aunt, Betty Hunt Maze; uncle, L.C. Hunt both of Sandersville; dear friend, Merrelyn Dorman of Sandersville; many nieces, nephews; and friends especially the MLK Clean Up Shop.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Thursday.
