Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Wommack, age 82, of Eatonton passed away on November 5, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Riddleville Cemetery. The Reverend Sam Allen will officiate. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jason Wommack, Michael Hart, William Hart, Jonathan Hart, Austin Shadoan, Garrett Shadoan and Justin Robbins.
Mr. Wommack was born in Sandersville on January 10, 1931. He was the son of the late Robert Elmer Wommack, Sr. and the late Eunice Page Wommack. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Elmer Wommack III; a daughter, Wanda Kay Wommack; a brother, William Patrick "Jack" Wommack and his wife Gloria Wommack; two sisters, Virginia Wommack Connell and her husband S. B. Connell, and Betty Faye Wommack Jackson and her husband C. B. Jackson.
Bob was a member of the Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Sandersville High School and attended Marsh Business College in Atlanta where he met Eunice, his wife of 63 years. He worked for Coastal States Insurance Company before establishing and operating Wommack Quality Printing Company for 52 years. When he retired and moved to Lake Oconee he operated Lake Services Company, building boat lifts, boat docks and sea walls. Mr. Wommack was a longtime member of the Decatur Elk's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving, flying and family gatherings.
Survivors are his loving wife, Eunice Wommack of Eatonton; a son, Michael J. Wommack of Eatonton; a daughter, Viki Wommack Shadoan and her husband Steve of Suwanee; a daughter-in-law, Gail Lockwood Pieniak; five grandchildren, Jason Ray Wommack, Shannon Wommack Robbins and her husband Justin, Michael A. Hart, William R. S. Hart and his wife Alexandra and Jonathan T. Hart; two step-grandsons, Garrett S. Shadoan and Austin J. Shadoan; a brother-in- law, H. Sam Allen and his wife Vivian; two sisters in law, Ethel Gosa Allen and Daisy Teal Allen; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends that feel related.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 10:00 A.M. Saturday until the hour of service.
