Robert Meeks Jr

Mr. Robert Meeks, Jr., age 86, of Warner Robins died at his residence on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, January 26 in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.  Reverend Mike Bankston will officiate. Pallbearers will be Caleb Meeks, Mark Pullen, Larry Wommack, Joe Nichols, Coleman Pulliam and Thomas Pulliam.

Mr. Meeks was a native of Johnson County, Georgia, the son of the late Willie Robert Meeks, Sr. and the late Grace Hartley Meeks.  He was retired employee of Warner Robins Air Force Base serving in the maintenance and supply divisions.  Mr. Meeks served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He attended First Methodist Church of Warner Robins and Piney Mount Methodist Church.  Mr. Meeks was a part of the Krystal Crowd at the Krystal on Watson Boulevard.

Survivors are his wife, Lynette G. Meeks of Warner Robins; son, Russell Meeks and his wife Angie of Gray; grandchildren, Caleb Meeks and Elizabeth Meeks; sister, Hazel M. Wattford of Loganville; brother, Randall Meeks and his wife Diane of Deepstep.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 2:00 P. M. on Friday until the hour of service.
