Mr. Robert “Bob” John Krygier, MSGT (Ret.), passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his residence in North Augusta, SC. A funeral service with full military honors will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of May and Smith Funeral Directors. Reverend Quillian Mercer will officiate, and burial is to follow in Washington County Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Bob was born in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Andrew and Marie Weller Krygier. He had a paper route as a youth and served as an Altar Boy at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church until he graduated from Cody High School. After graduation, Bob served his country for over 20 years as a member of the United States Air Force, from which he retired with the rank of Master Sargeant. During his career in the Air Force, he was a member of the Strategic Air Command Elite Guard while stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska. Bob also served during the Vietnam Conflict and as personal bodyguard for General Brown. In addition to this he was stationed in England twice, and also Germany. After retirement, Bob worked for 12 years for the United States Postal Service. When his health allowed, he enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a fan of Redwings hockey, and Atlanta Braves baseball. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Eddie Frost, and his brother, Martin Krygier.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Linda Harrell Krygier; son, Mark Frost and his wife Melissa; grandsons, John Avery Frost and his wife Megan, and Corey Frost and his wife Lexi; great grandchildren, Bentley Frost, Karson Frost, Cailyn Frost, and Kailani Crandall; siblings, Timothy Krygier, Jack Krygier and his wife Cheryl, Andra Krygier Ginis and her husband David; sisters-in-law, Mary Krygier, Brenda May, Judy Mercer and her husband Sandy, and Ellen McDowell and her husband Mike; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Bob’s memory to the Methodist Children’s Home, 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon GA 31204 or the giver’s charity of choice.
