Robert Clifford Sheppard, Jr

Mr. Robert Clifford Sheppard, Jr., age 74, of Sandersville died on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at his residence following a valiant battle with cancer.  Funeral services for Mr. Sheppard will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 25 at Pine Hill Methodist Church near Warthen.  Reverend Don Black and Reverend Roger Holley will officiate.

Mr. Sheppard, affectionately known as "Butterbean" by friends and coworkers, was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Robert Clifford Sheppard, Sr. and the late Mattie Francis Merritt Sheppard.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Beverly Fran Sheppard and a sister, Joanna Sheppard.  Mr. Sheppard was a member of Pine Hill Methodist Church.  He was a retired technician for Imerys Kaolin Company.  Following his retirement, Mr. Sheppard enjoyed spending time at his family cabin in Hancock County.

Survivors are his wife, Patricia Ann Dunn Sheppard of Sandersville; daughter, Debra Sheppard Everett and her husband Keith of Warthen; son, Robert Brian Sheppard and his wife Teresa of Dudley; grandchildren, Taylor Everett, Dillon Everett and his wife Averi Davis Everett, Shelby Everett, Mackenzie Sheppard and Cade Sheppard; sisters, Rosa Nell Barron and Julia Sheppard of Warthen, Jackie Sheppard Boatright of Reidsville, NC, and Lynn Sheppard of Haddock; brothers, Carl Sheppard and his wife Pat of Chatsworth and Larry Sheppard of Haddock.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 402 Lynwood Drive in Sandersville on Thursday and at Pine Hill Methodist Church social hall on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 2:00 P.M.

The family suggest donations be made to Pine Hill Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Margie Sheppard, 2102 Bay Springs Road, Warthen, Georgia 31094.
