Mr. Roger Seymour Chapman, age 92, of 558 Mt. Gilead Road in Tennille died Monday May 25 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. .
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday May 27 in the Piney Mount United Methodist Church near Tennille with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Minister s officiating will be Rev. Donald Brett and Rev. Jim Dominey. Pallbearers will be Ronald Brett, Mike Brett, Chris lindsey, Seth Lindsey, Larry Chapman, And Grayson Lambert.

Mr. Chapman was a native of Greene County, Georgia, the son of the late Elmer Greene Chapman, Sr. and the late Mae Cornelia Cawthon Chapman. He was a retired supervisor in the maintenance department of the Thiele Kaolin Company. He was a member of the Piney Mount United Methodist Church and the Washington County Farm Bureau. Mr. Chapman was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Air Force.

Survivors are his wife, Marie Hattaway Chapman of Tennille, two daughters, Gail Chapman Keyser of Mitchell and Dianne Chapman Whiddon of Tennille, a son, Roger Steve Chapman of Tennille,a brother, Ray Chapman of LasVegas, NV.,six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday. The family suggests that donations may be m ad to the Piney Mount United Methodist Church Building Fund.
