Roger D. Norwood

Roger Dwayne Norwood, age 57, of Milledgeville, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022.  A family memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.

Roger was born in Orlando, Florida, the son of the late James Garfield Norwood and the late Mable Lewis Norwood. He was reared in Sandersville and attend Washington County Schools. He began his lifelong career as a butcher with Wilkes Curb Market.  He was a long-time employee of the Sandersville Harvey’s Grocery Store and lastly worked for C and B Meat Market in Milledgeville. Roger possessed a passion for wood working and enjoyed making things for family and friends.  He loved fishing and watching football.  In addition to his parents, Roger is predeceased by his brother, Tommy Curtis Norwood.

Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Norwood of Sandersville and Katelyn Allen and her husband Chase of Davisboro; siblings, Marsha Smith and her husband Tony and Jimmy Norwood and his wife Sandra all of Sandersville, Kathy Thigpen and her husband Ricky of Milledgeville and Tim Norwood and his wife Suzanne of Davisboro.
