Roger Wesley Williams

March 9, 1921 — October 29, 2008

Roger Wesley Williams, age 87, of 1116 Walnut Street, Louisville, died Wednesday, October 29 in the Jefferson County Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, November 1, 2008 in the Zeta Cemetery, Tennille, Georgia. Rev. Scott Nash will officiate.

Mr. Williams was a native of Jefferson County, the son of the late Bessie Mae Rhodes Williams and the late Bunyan Walker Williams. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the Providence Baptist Church. Mr. Williams worked for the Philco Ford Corporation and was assigned to the Houston Space Center. Philco Ford later became known as Lockheed Martin and
Mr. Williams worked as a console operator where he retired after 35 years of service. Upon his retirement he returned to Louisville, Ga.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Gisela Kleinz Williams of Louisville, two bothers, Lamar Williams and Lucius (Audrey) Williams, a sister, Sarah Williams Gibson all of Louisville, nieces, Anita Hartley of Macon, Gisela (Bodo) Warlies of Germany and nephews Glynn Hartley of Warner Robins and Ron Gibson of Louisville.
