Ronald Winston Lindsey, Sr.

Mr. Ronald Winston Lindsey Sr., age 74, of Marietta, died Monday, September 12, 2011 at the Northside Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 14th at 2:00pm at the Riddleville Baptist Church. The Rev. Wade Dawson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7pm at the Home of Harry and Renny Lindsey on S. Riddle Rd. in Riddleville and also following the memorial service in the Social Hall of the Church.

Mr. Lindsey was a native of Washington County the son of the late Otis F. Lindsey Sr. and the late Thelma Louise Price Lindsey. After service in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Lindsey moved to Atlanta where he worked as a bookkeeper for the Seal Test Dairies. Along with his brothers, Mr. Lindsey co-owned a number of Gulf stations throughout the Atlanta area prior to co-owning and operating the Sandy Springs Garage also with brothers. He was a lifelong member of the Riddleville Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing on his family farm in Washington County.

Survivors are his; daughters, Rhonda L. Ligon (Douglas) of Locust Grove, and Wanda L. Ligon (Donald) of Woodstock, one son Ronald W. “Ronnie” Lindsey Jr. (Erin) of Acworth, grandchildren, Grace Ligon, Samuel Ligon, Robert Ligon, James Ligon, Mary Ligon, Bryson Lindsey, Chase Lindsey, and Eden Lindsey, brothers James Lindsey of Marietta, Carlton Lindsey (Linda) of Greensboro and Harry Lindsey (Renny) of Riddleville and one sister Marianne L. Junger of McDonough.
