Mr. Ronald I. Wells, age 91 of Riddleville, formerly of Macon passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Wrightsville Manor. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Riddleville Baptist Church with Reverend Allen Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow at Riddleville Cemetery and pallbearers will be Ryan Tribble, Matt Tribble, Brent LaCourse, and Eric Farmer. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at the church.
Mr. Wells was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, the son of the late Henry Terrell Wells and the late Hilda Williams Wells. During his time in Lynchburg, he was an avid photographer for the Lynchburg News in the 50’s and 60’s. Mr. Wells served his country in the United States navy, serving during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1954. He moved to Macon in 1970 to accept a job at Robins Air Force Base as a civil engineer, from which he retired. As a result of his line of work, he was involved in many projects one of which was working closely with the Apollo space rockets. Mr. Wells was also a Television repairman, and he enjoyed watching the Braves while eating a bowl of ice cream. He was also a man of deep faith and was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church in Macon for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Carlton Wayne Wells, and his great granddaughter, Madyson Tribble.
Mr. Wells is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Nancy Cyrus Wells; daughters, Renny W. Lindsey (Harry) of Riddleville, Cathy W. LaCourse of Gray, and Tina Pratt (Tom) of Toccoa; grandchildren, Ryan Tribble (Crystal) of Harrison, Matt Tribble (Michelle) of Tennille, Ashlee Farmer (Eric) of Harrison, Brent LaCourse (Melissa Howard) and Rebecca LaCourse, both of Gray, Joni Bray (Quentin) of Eastanollee, and Jenny Braden of Knoxville, TN; 8 great grandchildren; niece, Kim Bell (Mike) of Lynchburg, VA; and nephew, David Wells (Sonya) of Los Gatos, CA.
The family suggests donations be made in Mr. Wells’s memory to Wrightsville Manor, 337 W. Court Street, Wrightsville, GA 31096.
