Roslynn Warren Martin

March 14, 1949 — October 31, 2025

Brielle, NJ

Roslynn Warren Martin, 76, of Brielle, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at Artis Memory Care Home with her loving husband by her side.

Born on March 14, 1949, in Georgia, Roz was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Will Warren.

Roz was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, known for her spreading southern charm and grace along the Jersey Shore. Her elegance and hospitality were widely admired and enjoyed by all who knew her. After graduating from Valdosta High School, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Valdosta State College. While attending Valdosta State, she met her soulmate, Fred Martin, flight instructor stationed at Moody Air Force base, whom she married. Upon graduation, she and Fred returned to his home state of New Jersey to start a family.

Roz was a devoted mother to her three children, enthusiastically managing their schedules with herculean effort. Outside of raising her kids, Roz volunteered her time at the First Presbyterian Church in Manasquan where she served as a Deacon, reflecting her strong Christian upbringing in Georgia. She was also a member of the Brielle Junior Women’s Club, and a Class Mom at Brielle Elementary School. Her summers were spent at the Manasaquan River Yacht Club watching over her children’s various activities in swimming, sailing, and tennis. In the winter, she could be found accompanying her children at hockey rinks or indoor swimming pools throughout the northeast. Each morning, Roz routinely exercised with her 5AM workout crew at The Atlantic Club. In addition, she often accompanied her husband on business trips and vacations worldwide, and she enjoyed her annual visits to Sint Maarten with a close-knit group of friends. When at home, the times Roz spent with her local friend group, “The Jersey Girls”, were among her favorites. Several times a year, in spite of her commitments and busy schedule, she always made her way back home to Georgia.

Roz was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Will Warren, her brother, Rodney Warren, and her loving mother-in-law, Mary Martin Groff.

She is survived by her loving spouse of nearly 55 years, Frederick Martin; her three children, Susan Martin (John Guenther) of New Jersey, Julie Martin Riggs (James III “Jim”) of Georgia, and Kevin Martin (Janine) of New Jersey; her seven grandchildren, Thomas Pollock (Leaha Tilton), Michaela Pollock, Stacey Guenther, James “Jim” Riggs IV (Alyssa King), Caroline Riggs, Deklan Martin, Gavin Martin, and an assortment of numerous granddogs.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on November 9, 2025, at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville, Georgia., followed by a 2:00 PM graveside service at Zeta Cemetery, in Tennille, Georgia. Pallbearers will be James Riggs, IV, Thomas Pollock, Deklan Martin, Keith Colson and Chris Pannell.

A Celebration of Life will be held in New Jersey at a later date.
