Rufus H. Giles

Mr. Rufus H. Giles, age 83, of Sandersville died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 12th, in the Kendall Heights Church of God in Sandersville with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Williford and Rev. Danny Yates will officiate. Pallbearers will be J. C. Chalker, Marlie J. Lanthripp, Bill Giles, Kenny Brantley, Billy Brantley and Tony Brantley.

Mr. Giles was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Lee Giles and the late Laura McCoy Giles. He was a retired logger and attended the Kendall Heights Church of God.

Survivors are: his wife, Sara L. Giles of Sandersville; his children, Jennifer Hannah of Sandersville, Susan Lamb of Sandersville and Keith Prater of Lawrenceville; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 6:30 P.M. on Monday.
