Russel Earl Lister

Mr. Russel Earl Lister, age 56, of Sandersville died Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 23rd, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Fred Garrett and Reverend L. T. Logue will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Thigpen, Prine Anglin, Brandon Williford, Tony Smith, James Smith and Jordan Jenkins.

Mr. Lister was born and raised in Texas but had lived in Washington County for a number of years. Mr. Lister was a welder for Sandersville Railroad. Russel is predeceased by his niece Michelle McLester.

Survivors are his wife, Faye Durden Lister of Sandersville; a daughter, Jennifer Plentl Richard of Rayne, LA; his mother, Beverly Bell Lewis of Sandersville and his father Bethel Earl Lister and his wife Gidget of Arizona, step-children, Tony Smith and his wife Lisa of Franklin, Paula Wyatt and her husband John of Wrightsville and James Smith of Sandersville; a sister, Cynde McLester and her husband Mike of Sandersville; a brother; Michael Wayne Lister and his wife Shelly of Lake Jackson, TX; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday.
