Ruth Bailey Brown

Mrs. Ruth Bailey Brown, age 85, of Evergreen Drive in Sandersville, died Saturday, May 6, 2017.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 9 ^th at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Sandersville with burial in Brownwood Cemetery.  Reverend Lee Lacey and Reverend Larry Glover will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Terry Lord, Bob Wynne, Scotty McCoy, Berry Phillips, Jim Tinley, Joey Giddens, Ken Brown and Randy Wilkinson.

Mrs. Brown was born in Johnson County, the daughter of the late George Eulie Bailey and the late Gertrude Averett Bailey.  She was a home maker and former sales associate for Aflac Insurance Company.  Mrs. Brown was a member of First Baptist Church where she participated in the Joy Club.  She is predeceased by her husband, James William Brown and siblings, Buford Bailey, Ralph Bailey, Harold Bailey, Eldridge Bailey, Roy Bailey and Louise Bailey.

Survivors include: her son, Danny James Brown and his wife Paula of Sandersville; grandchildren, Ashley Daniel Brown and his wife Blair of Perry and Allison Brown Wilkinson and her husband Eric of Milledgeville; great grandchildren, Brooks Brown, Judson Wilkinson and Tucker Wilkinson; siblings, Jimmy Bailey of Wrightsville, John Bailey and his wife Bess of Oconee, Lynelle Chance and her husband Fred of St. Simons and Doris Davidson and her husband Dave of Conyers; loving care givers, Sharon Gilbert, Alisa Hall, Sharon Ivey, Tamika Heggs, Virgie Tucker, Tangela Johnson and Kim Ellington.

The family will be at the residence of Danny and Paula Brown on Laurel Drive in Sandersville and they will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
