Ruth Smoot Davis

Ruth Smoot Davis, age 99, went to be with our Lord on January 18, 2018. She will join husband, John and daughters, Sarah Davis Garner, Mary Davis Smith and Hester Lenore Davis. She was born in Walker County, Alabama on August 6, 1918, and lived most of her life on Berry Mountain, north of Oneonta. She was the eldest of six daughters. Ruth met her husband John L. Davis in Autauga, Alabama in 1934 and in September of 1935 they married. During there 56 years of marriage, they were blessed with three daughters. Ruth enjoyed sewing, making and canning jelly. She was an avid reader and writer. She led a long and giving life and will be missed by all of those who knew her.

She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Smoot Bowlby; grandchildren , Charlene Garner Kay, Mark Davis Smith, and Stephen James Smith; great grandchildren, Davis, Sophie, Kelly, Gavin, Alaina , Jenny and Seoul.

A memorial service will be held in Alabama at a later date.
