Mrs. Ruth Frazier Franklin, age 86, of Sandersville, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Washington County Extended Care Facility following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1st, at 11:00am at the Sisters Baptist Church with burial in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Rev. Rick Freeman and Rev. Burt Parker will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Franklin, William Franklin, Ken Meeks, Ben Franklin, Jeff Johnson, and Wayne Veal. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Washington County Pilot Club.
Mrs. Franklin was born in Washington County the daughter of the late W. Talmadge Frazier and the late Evie P. Brown Frazier. She was a former co-owner of Franklin Propane in Sandersville from where she retired. Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Sisters Baptist Church where she was a former choir member and also a member of the Philethea – Agape Sunday School Class. She was a charter member of the Washington County Pilot Club.
Survivors are her husband Charlie M. Franklin of Sandersville, sons, Mike Franklin (Sandra) of Sandersville and Tim Franklin (Lisa) of Tennille, grandchildren, Melissa Franklin, Jonathan Franklin and William Franklin (Stefany) and her sisters Evelyn F. Johnson of Sparta and Laura F. Bell (Bill) of Pittsburg PA.
The family will be at the residence of Mike and Sandra Franklin 1728 Mayview Rd. in Sandersville and they will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
