Ruth Colson Irick

Ruth Colson Irick, aged 91, passed peacefully on April 14th 2015 in Clearwater, Florida. A funeral service will be held at Bay Springs Methodist Church in Oconee on Saturday, April 25th, at Noon.

Ruth was born February 22, 1924 in Oconee, Ga the daughter of William Armstrong Colson and Charlie Pauline Kessler Colson and the wife of Lt. Col. Andrew G. Irick to whom she was married for 46 years.

She loved her church, talking to family for hours on the phone, flowers, visiting family whenever she could, flowers, cooking, flowers, working hours in her garden and yes she loved flowers. She traveled from Paris to Florida to California and more, but her heart was always in Georgia. She loved to dance, sing, and play the piano. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 45 plus years and taught Sunday School there for many, many years.

Ruth is survived by her family: Jeff and Esteen, Susan, Daniel and Sheena – Connor – Kiran, Drew and Debbie, Randy – Ace, Andrea and Blaine – Aiden – Faith, Amber, Andrew and so many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ruth is preceded by her husband Andrew G Irick and 3 brothers (Wade, Kessler, and Troy) and 3 sisters (MaeJessie, Janie, and Selma).

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.
