Mrs. Ruth M. Andrews Ivey, age 100, of Sandersville died on Thursday evening January 22 in the Heritage Inn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M. Sunday January 25 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Sisters Baptist Church Cemetery in Sandersville. Reverend Milton Wood and Reverend Otis Larry Andrews will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kit Andrews, Keith Andrews, Dylan Andrews, Christopher Andrews, Jerry Andrews, Chris Durden and Alan Wrenn.
Mrs. Ivey was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Walter McEachern and the late Annie Estelle Tedder McEachern. She was the wife of the late Otis Lee Andrews and the late William C. Ivey. Mrs. Ivey was a long time employee of the Holmes Canning Company. She was a member of the Sisters Baptist Church. For over forty years Mrs. Ivey was the unofficial transporter for the sick and disable. She was a sweet unselfish caring lady. Mrs. Ivey was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors are her two sons, Wendell Andrews of Sandersville and Rev. Otis Larry Andrews of Macon, four grandchildren, Keith Andrews, Michelle Andrews Durden, Christopher "Kit" Andrews and Kimberly Andrews Wrenn, six great grandchildren, Dylan Andrews, Kristin Durden, Sarah Elizabeth Andrews, Christopher Andrews, Beckett Wrenn and Jett Wrenn.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 1:00 P.M. Sunday until the hour of service.
May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
