Ruth L Brown

Mrs. Ruth L. Brown, age 96, of Warthen died on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in an Augusta hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 26, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. Interment for family members will be at the Downs Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Jim Dunn and Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate.

Pallbearers will be David Brown, Brent Reeves, Danny Brown, Michael Brown, Bradley Reeves, Ryan Brown, Zachary Deal and Brandon Brown.

Mrs. Brown was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. She was the wife of the late Barnie Brown. She was preceded in death by her sons, Bennie Frank Brown and Ernest "Rat" Brown and a grandson, Freddie Brown. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Sandersville.

Survivors include: her son, Fred Brown and his wife Charlotte of Cordele; two daughters, Glenda Brown Mallard and her husband William of Evans and Marynell Brown Wright of Evans; nine grandchildren, David Brown, Brent Reeves, Danny Brown, Paula Deal, Michael Brown, Misty Wiggins, Melinda Green, Renee Wright and Rhonda Bao; twelve great grandchildren, Hannah Brown, Bradley Reeves, Ryan Brown, Jessica Deal, Zachary Deal, Brandon Brown, Courtney Brown, Hannah Wiggins, Trey Wiggins, Sara Green, Elizabeth Green and Jacob Edwards. Devoted friend and care taker, Mamie Ross.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday.
