Sandra Adams Avant

Mrs. Sandra Adams Avant, age 51, of Pine Needle Rd. Sandersville died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the University Hospital in Augusta following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 7, at 11:00am at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Marlon Lastinger and Rev. Dewey Henderson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Charles Adams III, Douglas Adams, Aaron Adams, Nathan Riner, Thomas Avant, Tim Adams, Clint Adams and Todd Sullivan.

Mrs. Avant was born in Washington County and was an administrative assistant for the State of Georgia. She was an active member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she was a youth leader and teacher of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Sandra enjoyed painting and attending art shows where she displayed her reverse glass paintings. She also enjoyed photography and catering. Sandra is predeceased by her father Charles Emmett Adams Sr.

Survivors are her husband Kenneth R. Avant of Sandersville, children, Rachel A. Durden (Travis), Jennifer Ann Avant and Ben Avant (Wendy) all of Sandersville, grandchildren, Hannah Durden, Will Durden, and Brannan Avant, her mother, Edna B. Adams of Sandersville and brothers Chuck Adams (Debra) and Doug Adams (Cheryl) all of Sandersville.

The family will be at the Avant residence Pine Needle Rd. Sandersville and will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home 1119 Riddleville Rd. Sandersville.
