Saretta Roberts

Ms. Saretta Roberts, age 97, of Sandersville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.  A graveside service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, November 20th at 11:00 a.m. at the Clark Cemetery in Lexington, Georgia.  Reverend Dave Johnson will officiate.

Ms. Roberts was reared in Lexington, the daughter of the late Edgar Herschel Roberts and the late Henrietta Cunningham Roberts.  She grew up in the Lexington Baptist Church and graduated from Meson Academy and the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in education.  She began her lifelong career in education in Dublin Georgia prior to moving to Decatur Georgia.  Following a long and fruitful career as an elementary teacher, she retired from the Dekalb County Board of Education.  Ms. Roberts was an active member of the 2nd Ponce De Leon Baptist Church.  She was an avid Bulldog fan and enjoyed traveling, especially internationally. In retirement, she moved to Sandersville Georgia to be near family. She attended the First Baptist Church of Sandersville.

Survivors include her nephews, Wilmont Benjamin Ouzts III of Lake Oconee, Herschel Roberts Ouzts and his wife Keasa of Trent Woods, NC., Henry Cunningham Ouzts and his wife Sharon also of Lake Oconee and Charles Allen Ouzts and his wife Gamble of Charleston, SC. and numerous extended family members.

The family will greet friends at graveside.
