Sharon Lindsey Atkinson, age 51, of Lake Sinclair, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 following a brief illness. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, November 10 th at 2:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Reverend Roy Smith, family and friends will speak at Sharon's service.
Sharon was reared in Sandersville graduating from Washington County High School in 1989. She worked as office manager and performing accounting duties for Custom Milling Company in Davisboro, but currently worked for Shared Services as a benefit analysis. Sharon loved her job and her coworkers. Along with her husband Stephen, they made a home on Lake Sinclair that accommodated their blended family. The lake was a place she loved. Boat rides, cooking for family and friends and making attempts at gardening where some of her favorite things to do. She was a loyal Dawg fan and found joy in live music and attending concerts. Sharon adored her new grand babies and cherished time spent with family and friends. She will be truly missed by many.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen Atkinson of Lake Sinclair; children, Haley Johnson (Bradley Albright) of Atlanta, Nate Johnson (Logan Miller) of Oklahoma City, Julia Atkinson, and Sophie Atkinson both of Athens; grandchildren, Isabella, Colt and Stella Johnson; mother, Gail C. Keyser and her husband Ken of Warthen; father, Harry Lindsey and his wife Renny of Riddleville; and brother, Chris Lindsey and his wife Missy of Sandersville.
