Shirley Ongel Etheridge Sumrall

Mrs. Shirley Ongel Etheridge Sumrall, age 74, of 531 M. Friedman Drive in Sandersville died Tuesday morning, September 25th, in the Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Friday, September 28th, in the Antioch Christian Church in Oconee with the Rev. David Fincher officiating. The burial service will be private.

Mrs. Sumrall was born in Chatsworth, Georgia, the daughter of the late Ernest Etheridge and the late Mary Lee Tompkins Etheridge. She was a copywriter and worked as an advertising agent with NBC, WSB in Atlanta and with the McCann Erickson Advertising Agency. She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church.

Survivors are a daughter, Mary Sumrall Dowd of Oceanside, California; a son, Robert Sumrall; a sister, Mary Alice Lozano of Maitland, Florida; and two grandchildren, Allyssa Parker and Patrick Dowd.

The family will greet friends at the social hall of the Antioch Christian Church from 4:30 on Friday until the hour of service.
