Mrs. Shirley Ann Smith Landry, age 70, passed away peacefully on Junes 2, 2022 at the home following an extended illness. A celebration of her life will be held at Sandersville Community Church on Sunday, June 5 at 3 pm with burial at Zeta cemetery in Tennille. Pastor Scott Ferguson and Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers will Mrs. Landry’s nephews.
Shirley was a life-long resident of Sandersville, Georgia. She was a seamstress working at various factories around Sandersville and surrounding counties. She attended First Church of Nazarene and Sandersville Community Church. She never met a stranger, and no one left her home hungry. She loved her children and grandchildren and was a true outdoors person always cutting her grass along with all surrounding neighbors’ grass and she enjoyed fishing, camping, and dancing. Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Landry, parents, William Dudley and Frances Smith, brother, Jule Dudley Smith, and nephew, Kenneth Waller.
Survivors include her daughters, Tina (Hugh) Adams of Sandersville and Mary Lou (Rodney) Meeks of Soperton; grandchildren, Spencer Adams, Harley (Dustin) Price, Eryn (Blake) Harris all of Sandersville, Robyn Meeks, Rebecca Meeks of Milledgeville, and Dusty Meeks of Soperton; great grandson, Marshall Reed Harris; Siblings, Charles Smith (Margaret), William (Rosa) Smith, Mary (Mack) Boatright, Nora (Johnny) Rachels, Angie (Bob) Easterly, Chris (Linda) Smith, Mabel (Harvey) Jenkins, Schynell (Edward) Bragg, and Michael (Allison) Smith; several nieces & nephews.
The family will gather at the home of Hugh & Tina Adams 4990 Ga Hwy 24 East, Sandersville. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 4 from 2-4 pm at May & Smith Funeral Directors.
