Stella Reynolds Hawkins

Mrs. Stella Reynolds Hawkins, age 88, of Hwy. 15 North, Sandersville, died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the Heritage Inn Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 19th at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Warthen with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Rev. Tim Powell and Rev. Jimmy Harris will officiate. Pallbearers will be Glenn Hawkins, David Hawkins, Tony Lewis, Marc Jordan, Spencer Hawkins, Stephen Hawkins, Matthew Hawkins, Dean Ennis, J. J. Larimore and Allen Reynolds. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hawkins was born in Washington County the daughter of the late Oscar Franklin Reynolds and the late Josephine Tanner Reynolds. She was a homemaker and also formerly worked as a licensed practical nurse at the Washington County Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Warthen Community Club. Her husband Ernest Clarke Hawkins predeceases her.

Survivors are her children Franklin Hawkins (Fannie) of Sandersville, Lamar Hawkins (Catherine) of Tennille, and Clarke Hawkins (Trish) of Charlottesville VA., grandchildren, Glenn Hawkins (Jennifer), David Hawkins (Marcia), Sharron H. Lewis (Tony), Renee H. Jordan (Marc), Joshua Hawkins, and Campbell Hawkins, great grandchildren, Spencer Hawkins, J.J. Larimore, Kristi Hawkins, Stephen Hawkins, Matthew Hawkins, Jessica Lewis, Jon Alston Lewis and Mabry Jordan, a great great granddaughter Kayleigh Larimore and nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the Hawkins residence 2443 Hwy. 15 North, Sandersville and will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
